All experience levels welcome!
All experience levels welcome!
Whether you’ve played rugby for years or have never touched a rugby ball, you’re welcome here.
Exiles Women’s Rugby is based in Alpharetta and welcomes women from across North Fulton and North Metro Atlanta, including Alpharetta, Milton, Johns Creek, Roswell, Cumming, Canton, Woodstock and surrounding communities.
No rugby experience is required. Come meet the club, learn the game and discover why rugby has a way of turning teammates into lifelong friends.

Most women who start playing rugby in the United States did not grow up with the game. Some come from soccer, basketball, lacrosse, softball, track or other sports. Others haven't played a competitive sport in years.
You do not need rugby experience to start with Exiles. You do not need to understand all the rules before showing up, and you definitely do not need to “get in shape first.” Come to training and we'll teach you the game.
Experienced players are just as welcome. Whether you played in college, with another club, elsewhere in the United States or overseas, there is a place for you at Exiles.
Rugby has an unusual ability to bring people together. For many players, the friendships and community become every bit as important as what happens on the field.

Please reach us at join@exilesrugby.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Not at all! Beginners are genuinely welcome. You do not need to know the rules, understand rugby terminology or have played before. Come to training and our coaches and players will help you learn the game. Experienced and returning players are equally welcome.
Of course not. Women begin playing rugby at many different ages. You do not need to have played in high school or college. Come to a training session, meet the club and see whether rugby is for you.
No. Rugby has a place for different body types, strengths and athletic backgrounds. You also do not need to “get fit before getting fit.” Fitness develops through training. Show up willing to learn and we'll take it from there. There's a place for everyone.
Absolutely. Soccer, basketball, lacrosse, softball, wrestling, track, volleyball and many other sports develop skills that transfer well to rugby. But a sports background is not required. Rugby can also be the sport you discover as an adult.
Yes. Senior women’s rugby includes tackling and other forms of contact. New players are taught contact skills progressively, including safe body position, tackling technique and how to protect themselves and their teammates. You are not expected to arrive knowing how to tackle.
Yes. In fact, we encourage it. Come meet the players and coaches, take part in training and experience the club before deciding whether you want to join.
Exiles Women’s Rugby trains in Alpharetta. Current training times, locations and any schedule changes are posted on the Exiles website.
Exiles deliberately works to keep rugby affordable. Current club dues and registration information are published openly on our website. USA Rugby registration is separate. If cost is preventing someone from playing, talk to us. We want people playing rugby, not sitting at home because of a registration fee.
No. Exiles is a rugby club. Women’s Rugby is part of a year-round club that includes men’s rugby, youth rugby, social members, families, supporters and former players.
Rugby brings us together, but the club is bigger than match day. Exiles members train together, support the other sides and programs, meet socially throughout the year and have a club home at Olde Blind Dog in Milton. You can stop playing rugby someday without having to stop being an Exile.
Exiles Rugby Club is based in Alpharetta and welcomes women from throughout North Fulton and North Metro Atlanta, including Alpharetta, Milton, Johns Creek, Roswell, Cumming, Canton, Woodstock and surrounding communities. You do not need to live in Alpharetta to play for Exiles.
